Film simulation on my Fujifilm X-T3 camera

·

Fuji X Weekly publishes film simulation settings for Fujifilm cameras. Here is a list of them for X-T3. Here is a second.

The X-T3 does not save White Balance Shift in a custom setting1. The camera does remember a White Balance Shift setting per white balance. So if we choose a set of film simulation settings that each use a different white balance, overwriting will not occur. There is a workaround. If you encode the White Balance Shift setting in the name of a custom setting, you can manually set so after you load that custom setting. Exposure Compensation is not stored with a custom setting, either. So one can use the mentioned workaround, also.

Most X series cameras support seven custom settings. Instead of seven distinct film simulations, Fuji X Weekly has discussion on how to use multiple custom settings to achieve one aesthetics goal. Here is a variety set2 based on light condition. Here is a variation set based on one color film simulation3. Here is a variation set based on one black and white film simulation4.

I have chosen a hybrid: a light condition set for color film simulations and a variation set for black-and-white film simulation. Here is my current set of film simulation settings:

Below are settings on the camera.
