Mindfulness Meditation Apps

The two I use are below. Both free and voice guided. Both nonreligious.

First has a “My Path” tab. It’s a linear path with a lot of hand holding for beginners. There are many lessons, but don’t pressure yourself to finish them. It’s okay to repeat some lessons if they speak to you. In gist, the entire path is an education in mindfulness.

The second, from UCLA, has the typical, core meditations. Among others, breathing, body scan and loving kindness meditations. What’s special here is they have non-English recordings, e.g., Mandarin and Japanese.

For the advanced practitioner, the second app also has a silent mode, except that it rings a meditation bell at start and end of the timer.
